TESTIMONIAL
Dan McGee
I think about my chance meeting of Dan as an “inevitable miracle.” We lived in the same high school district, hung around people that knew both of us, yet it took a “Mega H.S.” Reunion, delayed one full year by the COVID-19 pandemic, to put Dan and I on each other’s radar.
Timing is everything; I began to launch a career in acting in 2017, and in essence, a re-launch in 2021. I was keeping up with updates regarding the Mega-reunion, and couldn’t help but notice Dan’s social media presentations. They brought me, in mind, to a very happy place; a kid in front of a television, taking in entertainment, particularly children’s programming. They also brought me to another happy place, putting a record on the record player.
All these years later, I’ve come to a point of, if it makes you happy, if it sparks your creativity, if it keeps you engaged in social interactions, if it gives you a challenge to come out of your comfort zone…why not DO IT!
As auditions for film and television have become a virtual process, to garner consideration for projects, I am required to submit self-tapes. Dan, in the spirit of “why not DO IT” is my videographer. His willingness to collaborate with me is truly a Godsend. The auditions tend to be short notice in nature; almost like a car that breaks down and needs to be fixed.
The future is bright!

Dan’s Garage is a magical place; where creativity is always welcome. Seemingly every square inch of space can offer inspiration. Acting is all about transformation. Becoming the character you are playing, involving your character with other characters and in unique situations. The alchemy of creating a scene is a process of attention to detail. Dan and I collaborate to get the best performance under the best possible quality for presentation. Dan is able and willing to work with me as long as it takes to get to that best performance.
No matter the end result of the audition, we have fun with the process and with each other. As opportunities come my way, I trust Dan’s ability as much as I trust his creativity and, ultimately, his honesty.

So when Dan invited me to make a comment about him for his new site, he told me I could lie. We both had a good laugh, and I’ve been trying to come up with a good whopper. But the truth keeps winning out.
From our first encounter on a small personal film he on which he was director and camera man through many dialogue gatherings and other adventures he has always been the same creative, honest, inventive, curious, open minded, open hearted straight shooter that I am proud and happy to call my friend.
Oh, and he’s a billionaire who has beaten Michael Jordan one on one more than once.
